How narrow the profile is that you actually see standing there. Twenty millimetres more per upright sounds like nothing, but on a double door you notice it straight away. In aluminium we chase the narrowest line, in wood the warmest.

A building quote you can actually read
A lot of people on this side of Brussels live and work in English. Getting a quote in Dutch for a job you cannot check is not a small inconvenience, it is how people end up paying for things they never understood. We survey, quote and hand over in English, and the items on the quote stay the same items.
The light that is left
Every centimetre of frame is glass you lose. On a renovation we first draw what remains of your opening with the new profile in it. So you know in advance whether the room gets darker, instead of finding out afterwards.
What you stop hearing
The northern edge of Brussels sits under the flight paths and close to the ring road. Glazing alone does not solve that. The seal around the frame and the junction with the reveal matter at least as much as the glass itself.
Material
Three profiles, three characters
None of the three is better. They suit different facades, different budgets and different ways of looking after a house. Here is where each one is strong and where it gives you trouble.
Quiet and affordable
The best balance between insulation and price. Multiple chambers in the profile hold the heat. The profile is wider than aluminium, so you see more frame. On an ordinary facade that is rarely a problem.
Narrow and taut
The thinnest sightline of the three, so the most glass. Ideal for large panels and sliding walls, because it carries weight that pvc cannot. More expensive, and the thermal break really does have to be inside the profile.
Warm, and it asks for attention
On an older facade nothing matches wood, certainly with an arched head or glazing bars. It does need maintenance, and the south west side of your house needs it first. Anyone who knows that and accepts it gets the finest window.
Sound
It only gets quiet once the gap is gone
These are typical laboratory values for Rw, the sound insulation of a glazing unit. The higher the number, the less you hear. What you are left with at home also depends on the junction around the frame, and we only see that once the old window is out.

Three decibels less sounds modest on paper. In a bedroom facing the street it is the difference between waking up and sleeping through. We will tell you honestly when acoustic glass is worth the money and when your budget is better spent on the junction.
Flemish renovation grant 2026
One condition can wipe out the whole grant
The ventilation condition is eliminating, not reducing. Anyone who replaces exterior joinery and does not meet the ventilation condition receives no grant. Not a smaller grant. None. That is independent of your income bracket, and it is the reason we ask about it from the first conversation.
- Bracket 4, the lowest income, up to 50 per cent of the amount excluding VAT, capped at 5,250 euros.
- Bracket 3 up to 35 per cent, capped at 3,675 euros.
- Brackets 1 and 2 receive nothing for windows and doors since 1 March 2026.
- The invoice counts between 1,000 and 10,500 euros excluding VAT. Anything above that does not count, so on a 20,000 euro job the cap stays the cap.
- Replacing only the glass in an existing frame falls under a different scheme, a flat rate per square metre, with no ventilation condition.

How we work
From the first measurement to the last adjustment
- We come to measure, not to sell
Every opening is measured at several heights. Walls are rarely straight, and a centimetre of difference between top and bottom decides whether the window fits or is forced in.
- Samples in daylight, on your facade
Colour on a screen tells you nothing. We hold the samples against your own brickwork, outside, and you choose there.
- Deposit of 40 per cent
Your window is made to the millimetre of your opening and fits no other house. The deposit pays for that material at the factory. The balance is due on completion.
- Floors and furniture covered before anything comes out
Before the first window is removed, everything is under sheeting. There are fifty years of dust in a fifty year old junction.
- Window by window, never all at once
Even if the job runs for days, your house is closed every evening. That is why we do not open the whole facade in one go.
- Rubble and old windows leave with us
Nothing is left in your garden or on the pavement waiting for a skip.
- Adjustment happens before we leave
Every sash is set, and we show you the paper test. If the sheet grips, the window closes.
Questions
What people ask us most
Do you speak English?
Yes. We work in English, Dutch and French, and the quote you receive is written in the language you choose. In this part of Brussels a lot of people live and work in English, and there is no reason to make you translate a building quote.
Do you have a showroom?
No, and that is a choice. A showroom shows you a window under artificial light, detached from your facade. We bring the samples to your street and you see them in the light they will stand in for the next thirty years.
How long before the windows are installed?
It depends on the material, the colour and the shape. We give you the lead time the factory confirms to us, not the one you would like to hear. Once the order is placed, you know the week.
What exactly is guaranteed?
You always have the two year legal guarantee of conformity, and after that the protection against hidden defects. That is your right, not a favour from us. On top of it we add a five year commercial guarantee on our installation.
Why are there no prices on this site?
Because the VAT rate itself already changes with your home. Six per cent for a dwelling older than ten years, otherwise twenty one. A figure that ignores that condition is not a price, it is bait. You get a figure after the survey, with the items written out.
