How we work
What happens,
in order
From the first phone call to the moment we pull the door shut behind us. Nothing here that we do not do every week, and nothing here that turns into a surprise on your invoice.
- The conversation
You write or you call. We answer ourselves, there is no call centre in between. Usually within five minutes we know whether the job suits us, and if it does not we say so straight away.
- The survey
We come to your home and measure every opening at several heights. Walls are rarely straight, and the difference between top and bottom decides whether the window fits or is forced in.
- Samples, outside
Colour on a screen tells you nothing. We hold the samples against your own brickwork in daylight and you choose there. Same for the handle: you pick it up.
- The figure, with the items
Profile, glazing, hardware, installation and finishing are listed separately. So you can put our proposal next to another and see where the difference sits.
- Deposit of 40 per cent
Your window is made to the millimetre of your opening and fits no other house. The deposit pays for that material at the factory. The balance is due on completion.
- The lead time the factory confirms
Not the one you would like to hear. Once the order is running you know the week, and if it shifts you hear it from us before you notice it yourself.
- Covering up before anything comes out
Floors and furniture are under sheeting before the first window is removed. A fifty year old junction holds fifty years of dust.
- Window by window
Never the whole facade at once. Even if the job runs for days, your house is closed every evening.
- Rubble and old windows leave with us
Nothing is left in your garden or on the pavement waiting for a skip.
- Adjustment before we leave
Every sash is set and we show you the paper test. If the sheet grips, the window closes. You see it yourself, we do not just tell you.
Guarantee
Two years is your right, five years is our promise
The legal guarantee
You always have two years of legal guarantee of conformity, and after that the protection against hidden defects. That is your right with any contractor in this country. We do not call it a benefit of ours, because it would not be one.
Our commercial guarantee
On top of those two years we give five years of guarantee on the installation itself. That covers our work: the packing, the seal, the adjustment. The manufacturer's guarantee on profile and glazing is separate and differs per brand.
Photographs
Why there are no site photos here
We only photograph with the client's permission, and never in a way that makes the house number or the street recognisable. That rule applies even when a photo would look good on a website. What you see here are drawings of how the work is put together. If you want to see real work, we show you images on the phone during the survey, with the permission that goes with it.
