The site

Chassis-Strombeek.be is the website of an installer of exterior joinery working in Strombeek-Bever, Wemmel, Meise, Grimbergen and the north of Brussels. There is no showroom and no shop: the work is done at your home, by appointment. The municipalities named are the service area, not a business address.

Questions, complaints and anything to do with a job in progress go fastest by phone or email. We answer ourselves.

Guarantee

Every installation carries the legal guarantee of conformity of two years under Belgian law, followed by the regime for hidden defects. That is a right you have in any case and not a benefit we grant.

On top of that legal guarantee we give a commercial guarantee of five years on our installation. It is added and replaces nothing. The manufacturer's guarantee on profile, hardware and glazing is separate and differs per brand; what applies to your order is stated on your order form.

Prices and VAT

There are no prices on this site. The VAT rate depends on your home: six per cent for a dwelling older than ten years used as a private residence and where the legal conditions are met, otherwise twenty one per cent. A figure that ignores that condition would not be a price. You receive a figure after the survey, with the items written out and the rate applied.

On order we ask a deposit of forty per cent. It covers the material ordered at the factory to the size of your opening. The balance is payable on completion.

Withdrawal

If a contract is concluded at your home, you have as a consumer a legal right of withdrawal of fourteen days, with the exceptions the law provides, including for goods made to measure. What applies to your order is stated on the order form, before you sign.

Complaints and disputes

A complaint is best reported directly to us, as soon as possible, with photographs if it concerns the work. We come and look.

If we cannot resolve it together, you can turn to the Belgian Consumer Mediation Service or to the European online dispute resolution platform. For court proceedings the jurisdiction rules of the Judicial Code apply; towards a consumer, the court of their place of residence remains competent. Belgian law applies to the contract.
